[QUESTION] Is learning to shred worth it?

Dude, understand what I'm saying: playing endless scales, sweeping, whatever, is fucking boring. You don't feel that way now, but I promise you, eventually you will. I'm telling you no one, NO ONE, except other "shredder" types even know about, or care about it.

THE ONLY accepted, and respected, form of "shredding" by the general populace is Bebop. Jazz. And even it's masturbatory garbage.

Write good songs. That's what's impressive. Not watching some idiot masturbate with a guitar, hoping someone wil be impressed that he/she wasted hours and hours of their life on bullshit.
