Question: Multiclassing Paladin and Warlock

Classic padlock: Veng Pal with Hexblade Lock.

You only need 13 str multiclass out of paladin, and you can invest everything into CHA. With Hex Warrior, You use CHA for both attack and damage roll, so getting 20 CHA doesn’t impact your melee capability (makes your build SAD instead of MAD). This also makes your aura way more awesome.

Hexblade Curse allows you to crit with 19 attack roll. Combined with Veng’s Channel divinity to gain advantage, you will crit much more often. If you can change race to Half Elf for Elven Accuracy feat, your chance to crit is 27% per attack, and you smite when you land a crit. You can also smite with your warlock spell slot, so you regain smite every short rest.

As for multiclass level/timing, I personally think you only need paladin 6 for the aura(which will be great since CHA is your SAD), then the rest goes to warlock. Get your paladin to level 6, the warlock from then on.
