A question that no one here ever seems to ask. What are you doing AFTER Korea?

I understand a lot of the reason why teaching in Korea is becoming to popular

Teaching in Korea has been popular for a looong time. It isn't some burgeoning trend.

That aside, I stayed in Korea for three years. Loved it. After year two, however, I started to realize that for me personally it was time to move home and seek out a true vocation. I hit up some of my connections from Uni and got a found a position working in QA for a start-up software company. Been home for three years now. I like the work and being closer to my family/old friends is an awesome bonus. Also, it's pretty sweet how laid back company culture is in the States vs Korea.

I do miss Korea (hence why I'm still visiting Korean subreddits) and I work hard keep in touch with friends from my time on the peninsula. I'm fortunate that my company is generous with PTO and encourages travel. As a result, I've been able to visit Korea a couple of times since moving home.

Your question is a good one. I think lots of people struggle with what to do after Korea so they just ignore the question. Ignorance is bliss, but time goes by fast and lots of folks wake up after five years teaching ESL with no idea what they want from life.
