[question] is it normally this hard to sell a guitar?

First off you probably won't get 50% of the price, especially not for a starter guitar.

Second off if you really are getting this many questions about what's got to be a starter kit guitar I would have to assume you have it posted as a Fender Strat or something when in reality it's a Squier (which is not at all the same thing), or some other equally ridiculous misunderstanding (Epiphone posted as a Gibson).

Third off if you're trying to sell a guitar you should really pull a build sheet for it. It's free (just costs an email and a few days wait) and will provide you with every conceivable detail of the construction of your guitar. Including what wood, what day and what shift assembled it. It's also good to prove that the guitar isn't counterfeit. I would say even for a $99 starter guitar. Some may disagree - but you can't act all shocked when people are asking questions.

As far as deliveries... if I'm selling something on CL or Reverb I always stipulate that the only place I'll meet to do the deal is at the police department. Ours even has a little room set aside specifically for CL transactions complete with a few outlets to test electronics.
