Question on Quora: Who was the most terrifying psychopath or sociopath you ever met personally (please describe the sociopath or psychopath and what made him/her scary)? WARNING: Graphic and Disturbing

My fathet got a business partner when he opened his own shop. When I first meet him I didn't trust him, and neither did my mother. But he seemed like such a nice guy that we didn't say anything. And to all who looked he seemed to be an outstanding individual; volunteered a lot, lead a church choir, and helping small businesses grow. He even got involved in my dad's personal projects, quickly becoming a close friend. And then my step-mom started going crazy. At first she was just irritable, but then she started to try and basically bully me. When I stood my ground she shifted her attention to my younger brother. This caused a lot of fights between me and her, and her and my father. Eventually she just left, and my dad was a wreak. And all the while my dad's business partner was there to comfort him.

After a few months my dad and step-mom reconnected, and we learned the truth. My dad's business partner had intentionally put himself in a position to financially ruin my father, a man who had worked his way out of homelessness within my memory, just so he could use this fact to blackmail my step-mom into sleeping with him. And when they split up and he was comforting my dad? He was feeding both of them false information to try and keep them apart. My dad of course chased him off after that, and he feared too much for his life to try and retaliate, so my father maintained control of his business. To make it all worse, not only was he married, but we later found out that he's done the same thing at least a dozen times before.

I know it's not as bad as the story in this post, or the one's in this comment section, but it still eats at me. The only reason I never killed that man was because my dad would of been the first suspect. I still feel responsible for the whole thing for not saying anything about how I didn't trust him in the beginning.
