A question re Brandon Sanderson

I also feel that Sanderson's style fit the more action-packed ending pretty well.

Really? Well, I admit Lan's fight was pretty epic, but things like Rand vs Rahvin, Rand fending off ashaman betrayal in Cairhien, Dumai's Wells, cleansing of the power, defense of the manor where Rand unleashes death gates, these were among the best fights in the story for me. It was just getting the plot to have these events with RJ that was the problem.

That said, the siege of Tar Valon in the gathering storm was probably my favorite large-scale battle in the whole series. And the siege of Maradon, too. Well, before I list every single battle, maybe it's better to say I found both authors did a superb job where it came to combat/warfare.

I was more partial to RJ's tactics, although that's due in large part to me being salty over Egwene and think sending in the Seanchan earlier could have spared her.
