[Question] What are your morning/evening routines like? How long do they take? How consistently do you follow your routines?

I think like a student, so I have to play both teacher and student when it comes to my current routine.

7:15 to 7:30: go over last night's goals for the morning and tell myself good morning, and lay out how I'm going to accomplish them.

7:45 to 8:45: one of the daily tasks I do is play a video game. Hear me out though. I play The Sims to relax my mind and tell myself if this little scripted person can become a great artist, I can too. So that prepares me for what's next.

9:00 to 9:30 get a great breakfast in. Anything from pancakes to eggs, to biscuits. Anything that's filling and doesn't rattle my stomach too much. After all, I'm going to be sitting for another hour.

10 to 11 I begin drawing in my sketchbook, working on values with charcoal still life drawings

11 to 11:30 I work on sketches, gestures, cartoons, and whatever else I feel like.

11:30 to 12 I start getting ready for work. It's an hour long drive one way and I need the extra prep time for the water heater, if there's clothes that need to be done, etc.

2pm to 10pm if we aren't busy, I'll catch up on my social feeds for an hour or two, and the rest of the free time I get, I work on learning from a few books on gesture and composition while working in graphite in my sketchbook

11 to 12am I will end up completely zoned out and unwind. Maybe another hour of the game? Most nights though, no. I make sure I follow up on the night's goals for reading from the books on gesture and composition, and then I'll set my goals for the following morning on my whiteboard.

I have 6 goals every day when I wake up again: 3 that NEED to get done 2 that should get done before I leave but aren't necessary and 1 goal that pertains to my art. For me, that's drawing for one hour.

Anyway, that's my life, since getting the whiteboard. I suggest everyone gets one. Something that you can write to do tasks, and put it where it's LITERALLY the first thing you see when you wake up.
