Cult was the wrong word and I have been rightly slaughtered for it in the post. What I meant to say is some athiest's are extremely driven to bash on religion on a constant basis. Someone in the post has pointed out the fact that this behaviour is amplified in all other religions and also many have a bone to pick against religion which I certainly do.

On your second point, why can you with certainty believe there is not a god. I personally define atheism with no belief in religion and god/s or anything supernatural? I understand the real definition is a lack of belief but that is too vague in my opinion.
