Questions about Job Applications

If your based in the US and applying to US jobs, especially the federal govt/state govt, they have a legal right to ask you to make sure they can give you adequate “care” for what your disability is. Purposefully lying about your disability can technically leave you open to penalties in the insurance arena (financial, nothing criminal).

For all US individuals, the govt views diabetes as a disability. Your viewpoint means nothing. You may have a fantastic argument and great legal points as to why you shouldn’t have to disclose these things, but, you open yourself up to possible consequences if you don’t. Granted there’s always the option of “don’t disclose”, but be forewarned, in specific situations, they can demand the info and demand to know why they weren’t properly notified.
