Questions about traveling

Not a digital nomad, but I’ve travelled and backpacked a fair bit for a few months at a time.

  1. Do you carry any nail clippers/shaving razors/tweezers with you? Are they allowed on the airplane? I take small nail clippers, tweezers, and tiny medical scissors (in my mini “medical” plastic bag) in my carryon, and I haven’t had any trouble with getting them on a plane yet. I don’t usually shave so I haven’t flown with razors and I don’t know if i would’ve had any trouble with them. If something comes up where I decide I want to shave, I usually buy a disposable razor while I’m there and toss it when I don’t need it anymore. This obviously isn’t very sustainable and kind of inconvenient so I’ve been looking into getting an epilator.

  2. Do you keep a skincare routine while traveling? I use a oil cleanser or face wipes for makeup removal, a water-based cleanser, and moisturizer. I wear sunscreen every day under my makeup.

  3. How many washcloths do you carry with you? One!

  4. Do you wear any makeup while traveling? I think I carry a lot of makeup with me while traveling than most people that onebag, which makes sense because I’ll admit my collection occupies an inconvenient amount of space. But I really, really like my makeup, so I’ve tried to condense my collection lol

  • a cream foundation/concealer/contour compact (I melted some left over cream foundation/concealer/contour sticks into a small eyeshadow compact)
  • small 9-shade brown eyeshadow palette (eyeshadow, contour, fills in eyebrows, and sometimes bronzer, sometimes blush)
  • pressed setting powder (I get very very oily)
  • eyeliner
  • mascara primer + mascara
  • cream red + pink blushes (blush and lipstick)
  • tools: eyelash curler, one double sided brush (contour and eyes), one fluffy brush (blush and bronzer and setting powder)
  1. What happens if you lose your eye glasses? I carry a number of daily contact lenses and my glasses. I usually use the dailies and restock more dailies at need wherever I am. I have a phone picture of my prescription for both so I know their strengths (?).

The countries I’ve been in in the past (South Korea, Germany, the Czech Republic, etc.) all allow buying contact lens pretty easily and without a prescription. This actually seems pretty universal in most countries that aren’t the US lol but I’m not sure about that

  1. Do you carry any jewelry with you such as earrings? I don’t wear any jewelry in my day to day life or when traveling.

  2. Should you carry a pocket notebook, a regular sized notebook or no notebook? I carry a small chapter book and a journal that’s about the length of my hand/a standard female hand (?). Not sure if that qualifies it as a pocket notebook or regular-sized
