Questions about veneers

Thank you so much for your response.

Is there anything that can help with gum recession? Years ago, when I first had this problem (but the enamel erosion was not apparent yet), one of my former dentists recommended some type of procedure (grafting?), taking tissue from somewhere else and putting it on my gums I think? I didn't like the sound of it. My current dentist has not mentioned this at all.

Yes, I have heard fruit juice can be bad for teeth as well. I only drink water (I might have a soda once a month, but I use a straw). I tend to drink a lot of sparkling water, which I have been told does not affect the enamel of the teeth. Do you know anything about that?

That makes sense why struggling bulimia patients would not be a good candidate for veneers.

I'm kind of a baby when it comes to pain, but I can handle it I guess. How strong of a pain medication is needed for this kind of procedure? Do people typically go to work the following day?

When you say the wax mockup, do you mean what my teeth will look like? I have an appointment in a week that is supposed to only be like an hour, and my dentist will go over what each tooth needs (e.g., these six teeth need veneers, this seventh tooth is badly decayed throughout, and needs a crown instead). Then, in three weeks, I go back, and that's where they drill and put the fake veneers on. This appointment is three weeks after that, and the actual veneers are placed on. Would the wax mockup occur during the first, shorter appointment, or the second, longer appointment? I am guessing the first appointment?

Are there any other "must ask" questions that you can think of I should ask?

Thanks again!
