Questions for native English speakers as parents raising kids in Germany

We are excited to have our first child now and plan to live here in Germany for the foreseeable future. We would like to keep our home language English , as I don't want our kid picking up my bad grammar or pronunciations but we are also thinking that when mom speaks with the kid it would be in german. Of course one set of grandparents are german only while the other set are English only!

So - show me. Where do they want their kid to have English as the "main language" again? And keep in mind what I just told you, please. I will quote it even for you, so there is no misunderstanding:

No. They want their home language to be English. That's not the same as setting a "main language" for their kids.
