Questions from a hopeful rookie.

"It's been a couple years since I was in the job hunt game, so hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think referred means that you made it on to their "cert list." That's the list that shows qualified candidates that they can hire.

Now would be a good time to call and ask how the hiring process is going for them...

if/when they expect to do interviews how many vacancies they're expecting to fill is government housing available what does a typical week of PT look like what sort of training opportunities you may have over the season AND

when can you call back to see how hiring is going Also be sure to tell them a bit about yourself - background, previous jobs, why you want to do fire, what you do for fitness, etc.

If you call with those questions, it will show your interest in their program, and make them more likely to hire you.

I wouldn't ask about how many hours of OT to expect though - it's generally kind of frowned upon to ask since that number can vary widely from year to year, and it might mean that you are only interested in hours and not working hard/keeping a positive attitude..."
