Quick Pitching

There are certain things that certain bad players use as a scapegoat to blame on why they are bad. It happens, year after year, and there is nothing you can do. It isn’t all bad players and this subreddit is a great example, as you’ll see bad players with horrible records regularly post positively if you watch new post.

One of those things they scapegoat is the “quick pitching.” Instead of just accepting they’re not very good at hitting, they’ll blame their bad performance on how quickly you’re playing...like you don’t give them a chance to think about what you’re going to do next so they don’t have time to sit a specific pitch that they just 100% know you’ll throw if you give them an extra 2 seconds to think about. But it’s all bullshit. They either know or don’t know. The extra couple seconds are meaningless. They are just an excuse.

If you play a lot, you’ll notice that bad players will try to slow the game down when they want to scapegoat things for why they are bad. They’ll start pitching slowly. They’ll hold R2. They’ll get angry if you don’t play slowly. They’ll pause a lot. It’s all just people reacting poorly to losing. It doesn’t actually make them play better.

But again, it isn’t all bad players.

And most importantly, the only thing you can do to actually stop their behaviour is to start losing to them. Then they’ll pitch as fast as possible and get angry any time you do not pitch fast.
