That's acctually not 100% accurate. Pitbulls were bred for dog fighting, yes. So they are extremely strong and capable of being dangerous. But they are not bread to be agressive. They were bred to be deadly in a fight, but tame enough a child could break up the fight with out getting hurt. The reality is temperment wise they were bred to be trainable. Most Pitbulls who have not been trained to behave otherwise have extremely sweet dispasitions and wouldn't hurt someone intentionally. The scenario that you described typically is the result of an owner who didn't bother to train their dog, or understand the history of the pet they adopted. It's 100% the owners neglagance and not the animal. (for or vet nurse who worked 90% of the time with pit bulls)
