Quit the full time job I hate and go back to school vs. stay here and make good money

You should stay. Unfortunately, many of us are finding out the hard way that a college degree is not the guaranteed key to success that it once was. So many jobs are being automated out of existence, and many of these do include jobs that require a degree.

Really, the economy is only going to get worse. Not only do you have increasing automation, but the middle class has been shrinking due to the toll that trickle-down economics has taken on this country, leaving less money for people below the top 1% than there would have been in previous generations. So with that in mind, it's not a good idea to throw away an assured meal ticket and money that will put you in a better position than others to weather the coming hardships that the collapsing economy will bring. Especially considering how much you'll go into debt.

So, it's not the romantic option, but it's the smart option. Right now is just one of the worst times in history to jettison a good job in the trades in order to go back to school. Make that money and save it before the transition to the automated post-scarcity society goes full swing.
