Why the Quora leftists are absolutely freaking out right now

You're depressed because you have no gratitude for how great your life is right now. Stop listening to leftist propaganda. Life is good right now. A meteor can wipe us all out in the middle of the night any time. You're worried about 10 inches of sea water 100 years from now when we're all going to be dead already anyway. Just live your life man. What more do you need to be happy? Just let go of this martyrdom complex and you'll be fine. Life's not perfect but all things considered it's pretty good, and it's never been a better time to be human.

I'm not trying to make you lose hope. I'm trying to help you accept reality for what it is, so you can make the most of your life and put things in perspective. We can each make a small impact here, yes, but we can't boil the ocean. I tried for a long time and finally accepted it. Who knows man? We might all be on Mars 50 years from now, or you could invent a vacuum that sucks carbon out of the air. Technology increases so rapidly that we can't predict what will happen next.

I believe in human ingenuity. As long as we keep the economy humming along, and keep the conditions ripe for innovation, I am confident we will sidestep the worst climate alarmist fears, and end up serving the greater good for all of humanity. When we invent new things, all of humanity benefits from it eventually. When we stifle innovation, we all suffer. The sooner you accept that the world is not perfect and never will be, and that not everyone who disagrees with you is evil, lying, or has bad intentions, the better off you will be at figuring out the true impact you have the ability to make here as an individual. Hating conservatives isn't helping anyone, it's only hurting you and I'm sorry if I got carried away in the heat of the discussion.
