A quote from Trudeau on his beliefs on electoral reform back in 2016.

So lets condense it down to 3 options. Yeah we have the greens and other odd small parties, but only 3 that can actually win.

The Liberals have, in my opinion, and in the opinion of almost everyone I have met who isn't a /r/canada poster, been doing a pretty decent job. There are things that haven't been great, but overall it has been fine, and much better than our last government. Especially if you are like me and couldn't care less about electoral reform if you tried.

Because I lean liberal (small 'l') on pretty much every issue, both financially and socially, I consider the Conservatives to be a total non-option for me. Why would I vote for someone who wants to take the country in a direction that I fundamentally disagree with? It makes no sense.

So that leaves the NDP. At no point since the death of Jack Layton have I heard anyone in the NDP make me think "yeah, I want these guys to run the show". And while I know provincial politics is only tangentially related to federal politics, the Nova Scotia NDP really soured the name around here with one of the worst governments we ever had. They seem like a natural opposition party, in a good position to pull the Liberal party to the left, and in the event of a Liberal minority they would be a very good position to do that (although, they'd probably just try to play politics and be obstructionists to make the Liberals look bad, rather than try to act in the interests of the nation). The last election showed that they are woefully disorganized and seemed totally out of touch with reality.
