Hear hear. While I now believe that there is some sort of energetic/spiritual world out there that we do not understand, I think we need to remember that we live in a physical world which is still controlled by physical forces.

When we start assigning the cause of everything to “mysterious energies” then we fall into a potentially dangerous trap of relying on those same energies to solve our problems, or using them as an excuse or justification for poor decision making. While it’s possible that my spirit guides will help me overcome an illness, we know for a fact that staying hydrated and eating healthy will have a strong positive effect. If my cat gets sick he will have my love and prayers, but he will also go to the vet and take his medicine.

I am a fan of the axiom “Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.”
