I've been on Baclofen for two years. It was prescribed to moderate a drinking problem. But no follow up. I should have tapered up but started myself on a pretty high dose from day 1, up to 100mg a day. It sent me manic after a while. Constant endogenous endorphin high that lasted about 3 weeks, barely slept, delusions of grandeur; finally, skipping time, dwarves in the walls. I ended up in the emergency ward when my head started burning up from the inside.They didn't diagnose Baclofen overdose just gave me some Valium and sent me home. Valium just made the mania even worse for a bit, darkest moment in my life, but did finally put me to sleep. When I woke up my head didn't feel like it was going to explode anymore and I had a week's worth of Valium so I stayed off Baclofen for a bit. But not for long. I was now an addict. Since then I take as little as possible. It doesn't do anything like make me high it just takes away the unwanted urges like voices in my head saying you wanna kill your cat and feeling like my head is in a vice ready to explode if I stop taking it. Baclofen has fucking ruined my life. Stay away.
