You’d probably made to share your car and let strangers come in your apartment with you

Ben is of course referring to abolition of property. Unfortunately Ben didn’t manage to reach chapter 2 of “The Communist Manifesto” or he would understand that such assets would not be abolished. From the dogs mouth:

"The distinguishing feature of Communism is not the abolition of property generally, but the abolition of bourgeois property. But modern bourgeois private property is the final and most complete expression of the system of producing and appropriating products, that is based on class antagonisms, on the exploitation of the many by the few.”

So your car is safe, and your apartment is too. I might add:

“Do you mean the property of petty artisan and of the small peasant, a form of property that preceded the bourgeois form? There is no need to abolish that”

So, what’s next:

”Sure your basic needs might be met”

Sounds like he’s confused communism mixed market liberalism, meeting basic needs is a way for the bourgeois to subvert workers, as the man himself puts it:

➢ “However, the democratic petty bourgeois want better wages and security for the workers, and hope to achieve this by an extension of state employment and by welfare measures; in short, they hope to bribe the workers with a more or less disguised form of alms and to break their revolutionary strength by temporarily rendering their situation tolerable.” ]
