I've been debating about adopting a dog. I finally made my decision yesterday and signed up for two volunteer programs involving dogs.

That way, I can foster dogs, learn more about their needs, and ultimately feel more prepared to care for one by giving it a forever home.

About one hour after I finished filling out the forms for the programs, I got an email from a friend: She just bought a 4-month-old puppy (drove two hours to another town where she had found a puppy online). She works full-time and when I asked how she's going to care for a puppy while she's at work, she said she's "crate training so will lock it in the crate."

So now I'm like: should I offer her information about pet sitters/dog walkers/doggy daycare? should I tell her to take it to the vet and tell the vet her plans and get professional feedback?
