I disagree with you on the stance that people travelling from any country are not terrorists nor don't mean us any harm.

What? Where did I say that? Obviously some people travelling from these countries mean us harm, which is why I specifically endorsed increased screenings of people applying for visas.

You cannot tell me with a straight face that most people travelling from the Gulf states don't mean others harm.

Wow. Are you seriously so out of touch with reality that you believe that most people in the gulf states are terrorists? That's not even remotely based in reality.

The vast majority of Muslims are not extremists. Even in the worst countries, the real extremists only make up a small percentage of the total population. And the people who would actually commit terrorist attacks are a tiny minority of that minority.

Week, in week out, there was nothing but terrorist attacks for a few years, back in what. 2015-2016?

Yeah... no. Any terrorism is too much terrorism, but people tend to drastically over-inflate the actual risk in their minds. There were a total of 5 Islamic terrorist attacks in all of Europe in 2015-16. Exaggerating the severity of the problem is not the way you fix them.

Five attacks is still way too many, but as I said before, blanket bans don't fix that. In general, the people who commit those attacks do not travel to the country specifically to commit them. They were already there. So instituting a travel ban does not fix the problem, but instead just increases the tensions between the two countries.

I know hitting things with a hammer seems like a good idea, but rarely can you solve problems with blunt force. And when you try you often just make it worse. Blanket bans are just a hammer. They won't solve the problem you are trying to solve.
