/r/Games - Free Talk Friday

Preface by saying I'm an indie filmmaker. Not important or famous but it's genuinely my career.

A bed fell down the stairs in my house, breaking my computer desk in half. The only thing damaged was the external hdd on the desk. That's the HDD that I had just captured all of the footage on that I had filmed over the weekend. I was about to back up the footage but decided to move the bed first. Now I'm sending the HDD to be restored to get the original footage back (paying hundreds to do so), but also this weekend totally re-filming everything just in case I don't get the drive back in time to send a first edit to the composer.

It's just a dumb, shitty, super low budget kid's movie I'm making while I wait on my latest "real" film to get its retail release into stores this year. Just something to have fun being an idiot with a few friends and my cat (It's a sequel to the talking cat movie I made last year).

But the fact that so much work got lost to the ether hitting me after a major car accident I had previously this month has really just pushed my depression over the edge and I feel like I should just give up doing everything because nothing matters anyway. I'm just in a really bad place emotionally and I don't know what to do to get out of this abyss I've been in for a few weeks straight (and just keep sinking deeper into).
