What have you been playing this week?

This week, I wrapped up Hotline Miami 2. I can understand people's frustrations with that game, and I cheesed an awful lot of it with the whole vision-cone door-baiting and setting up deathrooms and stuff, but overall, I enjoyed my time with it. The soundtrack to that is nothing short of absolutely phenomenal. I finished it on Tuesday or Wednesday but it's still a constant on my Spotify use. I absolutely love that kind of 80s-inspired synth-heavy stuff that it excels in delivering, and I have no hesitations in using Hotline as a springboard to delve deeper into that genre and uncover more cool stuff.

Other than that, I've been maintaining my Cities: Skylines city I have going at the moment. I've just filled out the first tile and started expanding into the second one. I'm at about 35k population, but I'm going to have to demolish a good strip of land I have built up to connect the northern and southern highways, because at the moment there's no direct links between them and inner-city traffic in my commerce and industrial zones is getting nightmarish.

Also started up a new Europa Universalis IV multiplayer match with some friends. That's uh... not going well. First I picked Brittany and almost immediately got annexed by France after joining the wrong side of an England vs France war, and then as Bavaria, got chipped down a few times by coalitions before the Big Bad Austrians came in to finish me off.

What Giant Bomb content have you been consuming?

I took the time this weekend to catch up on Metal Gear Scanlon. Double-billed 10 & 11 today and done an awful lot of cringing at my TV at Drew getting so close to figuring out The Sorrow but not acting on the Revival Pill. Also learned you actually don't have to wade to the end of the river to complete the fight, so that's totally new to me!

Also i think today's mention is the one that breaks the camel's back and I'm going to have some friends over this week some time and rent MacGruber. I watched the trailer on YouTube and it seems so stupid that I can't waste it watching it by myself. I watched Sharknado 1 by myself and while it was super dumb and hilarious in the most awful way, 2 was also pretty so-bad-it's-good abut I found it far funnier because my first watch was with a group of friends and not just myself curled up on my couch. I can see this being very similar.

Listening to the PowerBombcast WrestleMania Recap as I'm typing this. Not paying it massive amounts of attention because it's just reaction and recaps, but I'm alright with Jeff, Dan and Giancarlo talking wrestling for the length of a full Bombcast.
