I have a Cowon Plenue M and a Hiby R6 that I am just torn between which to keep.

I cannot for the life of me even remotely get close to the same level of amazing Bass quantity and substance on the R6 that the Plenue M has. I hear the quality difference between them everywhere else, but it seems like the Plenue M has audibly superior bass and with the Mach settings and BBE in Jeteffect, it slays the R6 in bass needs.

However, fidelity is superior on the R6 everywhere else, its balanced and has a better DAC in it for PC usage.

Spent days messing with the R6's MSEB and the EQ system and I cannot even come close to the sound presentation of the Plenue M. I want the R6 to sound like the Plenue M does on the bottom end, so I can continue to use my Balanced headphones with it. I just can't do it. I fail to see how the best DSP and EQ system out there in the R6 cannot touch the Plenue M bottom end.

What am I doing wrong? No matter what setting I play with, the R6 never sounds as lovely as the Plenue M. I have to be doing something wrong.
