r/India, how to react if your spouse is unnecessarily overspending on their family?

So, a little note about feminism: Female infanticide doesn't measure up feminism per se, it's these social problems where feminism is born or realised by many men and women.

Why not? It might not measure up. But it certainly contributes as the raison d'etre for....

Feminism is nothing but equality among sexes.

You can't have equality if sex ratios are skewed. They've been skewed for years, particularly in north India. All the work that feminism does is undone when a woman is forced by her husband to abort, and still remains married to him. Feminism has a lot of ground to cover in India before you speak of....

Gender roles is where feminism is born, seeing a woman working as a slave in the household and where a man sips nice cup of tea is the idea rejected by feminist. We believe in equality.

She is not being enslaved. She can exercise her rights and not be enslaved. She can speak up in the worlds largest democracy. She can encourage her husband to share household chores.

I don't like women's body being projected for the wishes of the audience where the power of her body is shifted from her to someone else.

Ermm, you're actually being against feminism here. The woman has every right to do what she likes with her body. The power might be shifted elsewhere but she earns her sustenance from it. Same with sex workers, they have the right to sell their body. A true blue feminist would never interfere with the rights of women. For then she becomes no different than a patriarch.
