To /r/Islam users coming here because of that "fake abuse on /r/exmuslim" post

I’m a Muslim mother of 4 kids and I have worn a hijab covering for more than two decades, and I had decided to take my it off for one sunny morning. At some point I felt like I was enslaved since covering my beautiful hair for all these years unlike other non Muslim women, real disgusted me...so one day i dared to do away with it.

Showing off my hair to the world made me walk a little taller, with confidence and great attitude. Strolling into a local cafe in Indonesia, running my fingers through my freshly blown long hair, it was as if I were starring in my own world.

Another reason was for the sake of my protecting my family based on where we stayed: I.e to protect my children from hate and because they weren’t convinced of its religious mandate in any case.
