The /r/Japan Daily Coronavirus/COVID-19 Discussion Thread (March 29 2020)

The problem is that social distancing is not being implemented, so the virus is still spreading as we speak. They've not done enough to limit that. They could keep their testing policy whilst also putting stronger limits on socialization.

The fact that we don't know the real numbers makes me very uneasy, but I can understand if they want to keep intensive care with people who really need it. I don't understand though why they are not doing more to really limit the spread. They could do both.

This is where I think they are economically focused. They are putting a brave face on it because first of all they didn't want to lose the Olympics and second they want to keep the economy running. I think that if we had a better idea of the rate of infection, we would have had a lockdown weeks ago.
