There's was a big construction project near my flat and most of the construction workers there are Indonesians.

One evening I was chilling at home with my father, when we heard a knock on the door. It was a young Indonesian man, all sweaty and looking afraid. He introduced himself and told us that he works at the nearby construction project. He pleaded with my father to let him take shelter for a while. Turns out, there was a raid at his living quarters, and he is "kosong" (undocumented).

My father let him in and gave him something to drink. We chatted for a while about his job, his home, and how long he had been in Malaysia. Eventually my father said that it's risky for us to let him stay the night. I remembered that there's a group of Indonesians living in a unit somewhere above our floor, so I took him there and knocked on the door. Told the guys there "dia ni kosong, mas. Tempat dia ada razia". They immediately let him in.

Later I was told that he did stay the night with them, and went back to his workplace the next day.
