r/neoliberal needs to stop sneering at white, rural America

Yeah, everyone knows The R_rals™️ check r/neoliberal to see what our attitude towards them is before casting their vote.

That is exactly how I found this thread, and one of the many reasons I clicked on it.

Sorry our "smug technocrats" don't wrap them in a securing blanket and tell them exactly what they want to hear.

Ok, but don't expect me to like smug technocrats.

I mean, Jesus Christ, these are the same people who can't scroll by a meme about personal responsibility without giving it a like and a share, but when it's them on the receiving end of hardship, addiction, poverty, then all of the sudden we should move heaven and earth to cater to these fucking people.

I actually support the majority of Democrat policy, so this thread just looks like a bunch of people telling me to go fuck myself. If this thread is any indication of the general attitude Democrats have towards rural people, then I don't expect y'all to pass policies that'll have an overall positive impact on my community, especially considering the rural decline accelerationists I occasionally find in threads like these.

Here's why I say "Fuck the r_rals" and don't feel guilty: because despite their unwillingness to vote for our "smug, technocratic candidate", those candidates still often support policy that would help those fucking people.

I jump back and forth between voting Biden, voting third party, and abstaining. One thing is for certain though, this thread likely isn't helping me vote the way you'll want me to.

The same is simply not true for them and we know this because we know how they voted. They show us where their priorities lie when election after election they send the same pack of racist, sexist, homophobic, anti-science, fundamentalist ghouls back to DC.

These generalizations just alienate people who might support your party, such as me.

Do you think your post will have a net positive or net negative effect on the general election?
