/r/NintendoSwitch's Daily Question Thread (12/23/2021)

It sounds like a dirty or defective USB-C port at the bottom of the Switch. First, examine the port with a flashlight to see if you see any bent pins/dirt/debris. If it looks Ok, buy some 91-100% isopropyl alcohol and a clean soft-bristled toothbrush and gently clean the port as well as the holes next to it (I’ve seen this is some posts about having to be cleaned to allow the Switch to completely seat/bottom out to connect to the Dock/dirt,etc. can cause it not to seat properly) to remove grime/sweat that your hands can leave behind.

If it doesn’t help, the port is likely defective, and you call Nintendo Support in your region to fix, or if you have a reputable phone repair shop near you. They can likely help. This isn’t guaranteed to be the problem. YMMV.
