/r/Ontario Exit Poll & Election Day Discussion Thread

He's certainly not left by Canadian standards. I said he's moved left -- it's a spectrum. (which is still a crude model -- as if there's just one axis.) You can move left and still be on the right. The current Ontario PC party is occupying the more centrist position (if a bit more right of it than I prefer) that the Liberals should be in, when they're not futilely trying to compete with the NDP, as if a wannabe marxist would ever choose a party that calls themselves liberal.

I'm sure I'll vote Liberal again when the Conservatives decide to court the far right again and the Liberals remember their natural position in the center. Until then, Ford, by being competent, has earned another term.

As you added this afterward:

"All DoFo has done is fuck up Environmentally Significant Areas (as deemed by the City of Toronto) and fuck up zoning. Is this a troll account...?"

This country is 99.9% wilderness. Ontario is, too. We need more development, and faster, and less "environmental assessment." Housing prices are ridiculous. Every new subdivision shouldn't be going through 10 years of assessment, and frankly, I don't care about anyone's "Environmentally Significant Areas." We need growth in housing a whole lot of it. And not high density, officially designated "affordable stuff." Focus on the middle class. Single family dwellings are not a bad thing.

Found one of the few adults in the room. The talking points coming back at you are really something...
