/r/Rochester, we need to have a serious discussion. Falsely labelling someone a Nazi and sending them death threats is liable to get someone seriously hurt or worse.

Hey, I went to school with this guy and was in the grade below him. If you don't believe me you can check my comment history, I mentioned the flyers in a comment yesterday. I wasn't directly friends with Jarrod, but I've talked with him a couple times and I am close friends with people who were close to him before this whole ordeal. One friend of mine was in a group chat with Jarrod and around 7 other people and said friend would sometimes send me screenshots of times Jared would just go off ranting about Jews or blacks or whatever. They always just assumed he was just trying to be edgy or playing a character because that was the type of person he was. He wasn't a great student, but I can't say how much that really plays into the story.

Most of the people around town think the fliers are a bad idea, including me. From what I've heard a kid named Alex made the fliers, which hasn't been proven but Alex was the one who found the Instagram post which showed Jarrod in the march and Alex broke the news on Facebook ,causing a huge uproar. Alex is very, very liberal and was friends with Jarrod in high school (at least somewhat) so I could imagine why he'd be more outraged than most. Many people suspect the group to be harassing Jarrod to be people who are friends of Alex's who share similar views to Alex on the issue and politically.

I am not ashamed of my hometown because I know Jarrod's actions do not represent the beliefs of me or my neighbors in the slightest, and I hope other people can understand that.
