/r/singapore random discussion and small questions thread for June 13, 2018

You're diverging the subject. Again, I'm concerning the person who wrote this.

I did not transcribed fully what were written. The writer did not struck me as the type who would have someone literally doing all these for all, and the restaurant was "the luxurious types you didn't know that existed when you were studying". She was clearly establishing that she was a sophisticated person and no kind of heavenly favours from a rich dude could impress her even when such possibility was still in question. r/ChoosingBeggar material, I might add.

It is natural for humans to do favours for people we like. There's nothing wrong with that. If it's a genuine favour and that makes someone happy, then it's basic courtesy that a "thank you" is in place, even if it's followed by an outright rejection. People can be thankful of favours, or can be unappreciative of them before they even happen (which is undoubtedly the case here).

Nobody is saying anything about the dude. Nothing about what he wanted or what he expected. For all I know, he doesn't exist.
