Spent a nice lazy weekend tweaking my cheap 82.99USD Aliexpress tablet from China! (And funnily enough shipped from Hong Kong) It was kind of frustrating at first because the rom it came with seemed to be infected with adware (Would install random apps on its own, I saw it install Lazy Swipe, and DU Battery Boost, and it will also open random popups in the Firefox app that would either lead to a Google Play store entry, or just some random Chinese advertisement.). Took me ages to find the correct custom rom, since I didn't even know what the tablet's manufacturer was and I didn't think of unscrewing it, and even soft bricked it the first time I decided to just randomly install another tablet's rom that was based on the same Allwinner A33 CPU. XD
However I was lucky enough to randomly discover the tablet's model (GD IPPO X11) and find a few roms for it, had to go through about four of them before I was able to flash a non-infected but still fully-functioning one! Go me! I guess the only caveat is that it seems to not recognise the internal storage's actual size, like its supposed to have 32GB space, but its partitioned poorly into 2GB internal storage, 30GB "internal SD", but now it reads it as 1GB internal storage, 12GB "internal SD" for some weird reason, but I could still fit all the apps I wanted on it so I guess that's not an issue. Hehe.
All in all though, I guess I'm still kinda happy with my first ever tablet... I decided to just get a random cheap one to see if I'd like to get a better one in the future. (: I mean, other than the annoying persistent adware that somehow reinstalls itself even after I erased the entire disk! @.@ Really lucky I found a clean rom! Then again, this is also a good time to use "You pay peanuts, you get monkeys." XD And I got a cute keyboard case that fits 10" tablets so I can reuse it when I eventually replace this thing! =D
