ive used a starhub prepaid card my whole life

i pay $15 to top up 2.4 gb of data (data only) that lasts for a month. its $20 for 3.6 gb but it only lasts a month and if you have any left over at the end of the month it gets wasted.

i only leave about $5 in my main balance (used for calls and sms) since whatsapp is the usual means of communication nowadays. i think ive only had to top up my main balance like once every few months where im slowly chipping away at the reserve amount in my main balance

there are plans that give you both credits for call/sms and data, but the amount for calls and sms is usually too much to realistically use within the period before expiry and they market it as "$128 value for only $28!!!!!!!!" when you wont use a large portion of it anyway.

essentially when you buy data you keep extending the expiry date so dont worry about it expiring ever. i havent bought a physical top up card ever since getting my debit card a few years back too and its convenient now with the app that starhub provides. before the app it was a bit of a chore going online and filling in card details every single time or buying a physical card but now its easy.
