But there are many, many well intentioned people who are very interested in having real discussions with supporters who are not frothing at the mouth over Trump in a relatively civilized manner.

Here's what I don't get. You claim to want to have real intelligent discussions with trump supporters, but you refer to them as if they aren't just human beings living in America. Like they're some sort of subhuman alien race that you would like to communicate with so you can understand them better. They're people. They have reasons for what they do, and there's a very real chance a lot of people you know voted for him. They probably just don't speak out because of how much hatred gets thrown at them by people who didn't vote for trump.

The other thing that I find weird is that you claim to want to have "discussions" but as soon as you find a trump supporter out here in the wild, you immediately go on the defensive and pick his post apart and tell him why he's wrong. That's not discussion. "You're post is inaccurate because I don't agree with what you said!" is neither intelligent thought nor discourse. This guy tells you why he visits T_D, and you tell him why he's wrong. No wonder he never replied.
