Yeah, but any outdoor sub nowadays needs pretty harsh moderation to avoid degenerating into shitposts, memes, pictures, and straight-up consumerist gear whoring. Fuck, that's true of any sub in 2019. You also need moderators willing to post seed content to get things going.

And who's gonna do that, being really real? :P

Like lets be real. The UL philosophy is great, and most of us here buy into the general ethos. But 90% of the reason this sub has grown so much is because it has a better bullshit filter than any other outdoor sub. That's really the big thing. This is where you come to have coherent conversations with other human beings instead of something more akin to a really nice nature-based wallpaper site.
