PSA: Editorialized submissions will be removed

The rules on editorialization:

> Only clarifying editorialised titles are allowed. We allow (on the discretion of the moderators) editorialised titles as long as they provide more clarity and do not convey the personal opinions of the submitter. We advise our subscribers not to editorialise titles but do at the same time admit that at times they can be justified. Editorialise with thought and without political bias.

In 99% of cases the original title should be used. Don't inject your opinion in the title, either directly or by modifying it to highlight a different angle of the story. Leave your opinion for the comment section and allow readers to make up their own minds about the submission.

Examples of good editorialization:

  • Turning an ALL CAPS title in a normal case title

  • Substituting pronouns with the nouns they refer to e.g. "He was the man to save Evil Corp. Now he's the man who'll destroy it" -> "[Elliot Alderson] was the man to save Evil Corp. Now he's the man who'll destroy it"

Examples of bad editorialization:

  • Adding your opinion in the title e.g. "When will we do something about this?"

  • Substituting the title with a quote from the article

  • Modifying the title to add a political slant e.g. "Elliot Alderson charged with 5 counts of cyber crimes" -> "Elliot Alderson, a white atheist who supported Giant Asteroid 2016, charged with 5 counts of cyber crimes"

We will remove editorialized submissions and we'll keep to a very narrow interpretation of this rule until we see a drop in the number of editorialized submissions.
