Racism explained in two sentences

I think it's different for all of us and it mostly depends where you live, what you look like, how you were raised etc.

What you look like is definitely the most important.

Most hapas seem to have similar stories but I noticed we're still very different and we are more "shaped by our environment" than other groups might be.

I still have have a few close Asian friends but I've also never been part of the main "Asian circles" or "the Asian table" in my schools.

I still think it's different for everybody. I knew a half Taiwanese -half white break dancer who had the fantasy spikey wild Asian hair and he always was hanging out with all kinds of Asians. He even worked at a Chinese restaurant. He was basically 100% as far as Asian people were concerned.

It's different for me because I'm half Filipino and the Philippines seems to be a bit more accepting of mixed Filipinos. I still don't have many full Filipino friends but I have many mixed Filipino friends that I grew up with.

My Asian friends are Vietnamese, Korean, or Indian even though I'm half Filipino. They accept me for what I am but I still don't think they ever really viewed me as "Asian" and I don't blame them. They are good friends and I've done psychedelic drugs and had deep conversations about race with some of them. I consider myself blessed compared to many other hapas.

Again, a lot of this is related to the demographics of my city. I grew up in WA State. I think it would be different if I grew up somewhere else.

I truly believe everything comes down to the individual but somehow hapas still have so many issues in common no matter where you go... I apologize for the long reply but it really is different for everybody.
