It doesn't feel like that. I grew up in a family that was very welcoming and open, and never heard them talk about or support the kind of filth they do now. I'm not just talking about when I was little. I'm talking well into my adult years without this demented fixation on minorites. I'm not saying things were good for minorites at all (and there has been a destructive ignorance on the part of otherwise tolerant people), but this shit is a growing cancer. It's the new battlefield conservative culture warriors have chosen to fight in, and as with all their issues, it's about identity. Not reason or concern for the lives of others.
