Radiants With Physical Disabilities (Where are they?!)

His brain was damaged in birth, at least as far as we can tell from the info that's given. It seems like it was an oxygen issue since the umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck. So yes, physical injury, not genetic. You can't just say that's off the table because I don't care about it, because it's all the same issue at the core. You also say their perception may not match the commenter's, but that goes the same for you. I don't know much about physical disability in the modern world, but I'd bet there would be far fewer/no one living in these times at this technology level that would choose to live with a physical disability, when given the opportunity to heal it. They are fighting for their lives, and even if the disability doesn't have drastic effects, it would likely make those fights harder.

In fact, I feel like you're actively ignoring the characters you're using as examples, namely Lopen and Gaz, who actively complained about their disabilities and how they wished they would go away well before they were radiants.
