Has a radiologist ever misread/misdiagnosed your test results (x-rays, CT scan, MRI, etc)? Or just completely missed something? How did you find out?

Not a radiologist, but my dentist once misread my xrays. Said the nerve of one of my teeth was atrophying and that I'd eventually lose the tooth (at the time she said it was likely an autoimmune response likely triggered by some kind of trauma, but I couldn't for the life of me remember injuring any teeth). She started talking to me about implants and stuff down the road.

Fast forward to my next set of xrays a year later. Whatever anomaly she saw is now gone. Everything looks totally normal. Chalked it up to some kind of artifact on the xray and now I'm not losing a tooth.

I don't personally blame her, especially if whatever she saw really was just a byproduct of some technical error. I'm just glad she adopted a "wait and see" approach before recommending the tooth comes out!
