Raising the Stakes Further.. Fate of the Sub After Hurricane Challenge

Okay. So, every point on the globe takes 24 hours to rotate. The air at the equator had to go further in 24 hours than the air north and south of it, therefore it moves faster.

When you have something faster moving alongside something slower, you get friction. This causes the faster air to curve towards the slower air, no different than having a fast moving row boat, and then putting an oar in the water on one side. Putting the oar in the water on the right hand side, slows the right hand side of the boat more than the left and the boat turns to the right.

So you have air that is moving faster at the equator that is being curved away by friction northwards and southwards. The air is travelling east to west with the globes rotation.

So the air is travelling east to west and curving away north and south. This north and east direction leads to a counter clockwise spin, and south and east direction leads to a clockwise spin. Hence why hurricanes spin counter-clockwise in the northern hemisphere and clockwise.

Now watch as Style ignores all this, takes one line that he disagrees out of context and makes an entire strawman arguement out of it.
