Punishments are dished out by an automated system, not a reasoning human being that checks the validity of any delinquent behavior. Therefor punishable behavior is a grey area in League. These are two key factors that eliminate any 'transparency' regarding the penal system.
Speaking out or trying to reason with a negative player on your team will warrant you a report from that person, resulting in possible chat restriction since there is nothing in place to check the validity of that report. This is a huge problem in diamond and above where players frequently play with and against the same people.

Even if we ignore everything mentioned above, the penal system used in league is seriously flawed. And to think that removing rewards for any account that has received any form of punishment over the past season by an automated system, is just simply rediculous.
