[RANT] The one island per switch console rule in Animal Crossing New Horizons is ridiculous and needs to be changed

For her to get the full experience of the game we would have > to buy another switch console and another copy of the game

That's pretty much the reason why they most likely won't be changing it.

I was looking forward to Animal Crossing but someone else in my household wanted it way more so I let them be player 1. I've tried playing a few times but having no control over anything is honestly just boring. I've more or less given up on the game, I sometimes jump on to play multiplayer with someone but other then that I've stopped playing. I don't really mind since I have a lot of other games I would rather play, but it is kind of annoying that I won't ever be able to experience this game for what it should be.

I know one town per console is the series history and all, but Pokemon also had a one save file per copy rule that was broken with the Switch titles. I definitely understand keeping the option of a community island for people who prefer it, but I think it's time to modernize the series and allow for multiple save files. At the very least if they are going to force one island per console they should let all players be able to make decisions that affect the island.
