I agree with you -- the begging is ridiculous. Who does that?

However, that said: I've realised that, whenever I have escalated things sooner rather than later, the woman I am seeing is more likely to stick around for a proper relationship. And this is while having the same conversations, plenty of fun, and overall a great time.

I'm not entirely sure why that is either, but that's the situation -- my best guess is that she gets more invested past that point. (Or the sex is fun / good?)

I'd be happy to get to know someone properly and go on a decent number of dates before sleeping together, but that has never resulted in a relationship for me.

I don't know if the above applies to the experiences other men have had as well, but it might.
