[Rant] Telos Drop Mechanic is Stupid

Considering that you can only skip 25% enrage at a time, this means that 1000% will take 40 kills.

Considering a good PvMer can kill in 10 minutes, this will take 400 minutes (almost 7 hours) for 1 orb.

Considering most people have a life outside of Runescape (not that I would know), this means this would likely be split over 3-4 days.

Given that some people who are able to get these orbs are keen on doing other things besides farm Telos all day, this might be split over 6-7 days.

This is just for 1 orb.

Let's be fair and say that everybody suddenly decides to farm orbs in one go. This would take 7 hours each (even more if you're not able to maintain 10-minute kill average) for a total of 21 hours. Even a dedicated hardcore PvMer has to sleep, so let's give him a decent nights rest at 8 h per day. Let's also give him 3 h for eating and exercising. This means that farming 3 orbs alone would take 2 days at least.

There are 30k people playing RS. Let's say 1% can do this. That's 300 people. That's 300 weapons coming in per 2 days at worst, which isn't even that bad.

Now let's consider the aforementioned limitations.

People might want to have a life — go out with friends — that's 1 h taken out of the day.

Most of these people have school or jobs — that's 8 h taken per day, plus up to 30 min for commuting.

That means people have about 2 h a day to farm for orbs, which means with this guaranteed drop would take 11 days to complete. Let's be fair and say that these people are underemployed sleep deprived gaming addicts and take about 2/3 of the time, 7 days.

Now let's consider how many of the 300 are willing to waste their time on Runescape farming for a t92. Maybe 50%? The others are probably out there doing other stuff like Vorago or even Telos at lower enrage. Now out of the 150 left, how many are willing to spend 100% of their game time on farming for drops? Let's say the average time looking for 100% drops is 75% of game time. That means they'll have the efficiency of around 85 players. This means that 85 t92s are coming in every week week-and-a-half. let's boost that number for when they get lucky to about 90. This is the high end of the range.

So 90 will be coming in a week on average at most. I don't know how many come in per week but it has to be around ⅔ that at least. Even if less than that comes in every week, while the price will fall it won't crash, since the price will become more reasonable and people will want to buy it more readily. So while it may lower the price a fair bit, it will not crash the price.
