Rant Wednesday

I live in an apartment that has a small community fitness room. When we moved in, all of the equipment belonged to a tenant, who ended up moving out and taking all the equipment with them. A few months ago they renovated the fitness room, and added some new equipment which included two treadmills, two elliptical, a recumbent bike, a couple of benches, a set of dumbbells that went up to 30lbs, and a barbell with up to 210lbs in plates.

I was a few months into my journey that is getting into shape, and had just started doing SL5X5 when it occurred to me that in order to progress safely, I'd need some sort of squat rack/stand for the bar. When I inquired with the apartment management whether or not there would be any chance of requesting this piece of equipment so that people wanting to use the barbell and weights could safely do so, they informed me that it was actually a liability for them to have those weights in there, and would be removing them at some point.

As of this week, I now have to resort to either lifting the treadmills, or taping a bunch of dumbells together I guess.
